I love the smell of wintergreen. I found some in the woods one time years ago. Such a nice flavour.

I bet that was lovely. It’s such an unmistakable scent, even if for Thomas it’s a stench 😅 Thank you so much for reading!

The idea of a town where everyone shares each others’s burdens sounds so cozy honestly

The rule on the wall is not the same rule at the end. Give it back to the earth becomes give it to another, and you let the page change without a word of explanation. Beautiful.

And just two old boots in two ordinary hands is the best line in the story.

I'm happy you caught the change in the rule! And yes, I think the boots are one of those moments that just speak for themselves. Thank you so much for reading!

This was such a beautiful meditation on grief and empathy and the sharing of emotional burdens. Really excellent and philosophical work as always. ❤️🤗

The thought of a whole town sharing each other's grief and burdens is quite beautiful, as terrifying as it might seem at first glance.

Yes. Sharing grief makes it easier to bear, but when it starts moving on its own, it becomes something else. Thanks for reading! 😊
